Anyone reading the chain reads all four.
Solana Devnet
Confidential balances and encrypted token transfers, built on Solana.
How it works
Each one is a thing the app does on devnet today, in the order you would do them.
Connect your Solana wallet.
Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, on devnet. VERX reads your address and nothing else.
Sign a message to derive your confidential keys locally.
One signature over 18 fixed bytes, in your browser. It is never stored, so a reload asks again.
Move supported Token-2022 assets into your confidential balance.
One transaction. The deposit amount is visible; everything that happens to it afterwards is not.
Transfer tokens while keeping supported transaction amounts confidential.
Five transactions, five approvals. The amount is encrypted and proven in range. Both addresses stay public.
Move tokens back into your public balance.
Four transactions. The amount becomes visible again, which is the whole purpose of the step.
stage 1 of 5
Privacy, exactly
This is the whole difference, and the reason VERX will not call itself anonymous.
ordinary transfer
Anyone reading the chain reads all four.
confidential transfer
One field is a ciphertext. The other three are exactly as public as before.
What is built
A feature marked live has been driven in a browser and read back off the chain: 10 signatures, verified at slot 511,962,211.
Derives the ElGamal and AE keys in your browser from one wallet signature, and configures the account on chain. Driven in a real browser on devnet: the key the page derives was checked against an independent derivation, and the account carries it.
still visibleThat the account exists, and that it is yours.
Open private vaultMoves a public balance into the confidential balance of the same account you own. Done from the browser on devnet: 100 tokens, public 1,900 to 1,800, and the credit arrives as PENDING until applied.
still visibleThe deposit itself, and its amount, at the moment it is made.
Open shield amountsTransfers to another confidential account with the amount encrypted and proven in range. Done from the browser on devnet across four transactions, proofs built in the tab: 25 tokens, sender 200 to 175, and the public balance did not move.
still visibleThat you paid that recipient, and when. The amount is not.
Open private sendMoves a confidential balance back to a public one, to the same wallet. Done from the browser on devnet across three transactions: 10 tokens, public 1,800 to 1,810, confidential 175 to 165.
still visibleThe withdrawal and its amount.
Open withdrawLists the flows this browser signed, with their signatures, from this browser's own storage. It is not a history of the account and says so.
still visibleEverything in it: these are public transactions. What is NOT in it is anything another machine did.
Open activityRouting through an aggregator while the amounts stay confidential.
still visibleNot determined. This is why it is not called live.
no control until it is built
Protocol architecture
The confidential transfer extension, enabled on a mint when it is created. VERX deploys no program of its own.
Your balance becomes a ciphertext only your key opens. A second AES key holds a readable copy for you alone.
Every move carries proofs that the amounts add up and lie in range, checked by a program built into the validator.
One wallet signature, in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and a reload asks again.
Ordinary Solana transactions. The accounts, the fee payer and the slot stay public, as they must.
